Thank you for your interest in our luxury cottages in Aviemore. We offer check in/out days on Mondays and Fridays, allowing you to plan your stay with convenience and ease. We require a minimum stay of 3 nights to ensure that you have ample time to fully enjoy your Highland getaway.

Utterly magical cottage in the most idyllic location. Could not ask for more! Thrilled to bits with our visits every evening with two big badgers, as well as red squirrels and birds. Stunning walks around the estate and we walked up Ben Macdui. We would highly recommend the Falconry Experience with Jonny. We will definitely be back!

Embark on a picturesque drive the the enchanting forest, and as you meander along the winding road, you’ll find yourself arriving at the serene and peaceful setting of Cairn Valley – a luxury self-catering Cairngorms Cottage. Nestled amidst nature’s embrace, this hidden gem offers a tranquil escape from the demands of everyday life.
LIVING
Upon entering you’ll experience the textures of heathery tweeds and the colours of a stormy Highland sky. The perfect backdrop for luxurious furnishings and contemporary comforts. There is an open plan lounge and dining area that features a wood burning fireplace that you can enjoy from the incredibly comfortable wing back chair or leather sofa. We’ve packed the place with books – as well as board games, bird watching guides and binoculars if you are looking for a break from technology. Sit back with a dram and a good book in front of a roaring fire. Or use the TV with freesat and apps to access all your favourite shows. The dining area has a perfectly positioned table and window seat to take in the views of the woodland and ancient ruins on the hill behind the cottage. The kitchen has everything you could ask for if you plan to rustle up some meals including cooking essentials such as oils and herbs. You’ll find an electric hob, cooker, fridge, freezer, Lavazza coffee maker and dishwasher.
To the back of the cottage is a large bedroom with a supremely comfortable superking bed for a luxurious night’s sleep. We’ve added the finest Hungarian goose down pillows and quilts, wrapped in 800 thread count luxury bed linens for a bit of indulgence. Your en-suite shower room has an invigorating rain shower and includes UK finest luxury brand of toiletries, Noble Isle. Head upstairs to enjoy the mezzanine bathroom with its freestanding tub. While soaking you can take in the most stunning views of changeable skies and birch wood from the Velux window above.
OUTSIDE
The outdoor spaces and beyond invoke a sense of awe and are what make Cairn Valley a true Highland retreat. Accessed only by a private estate road, you’ll have taken in the splendor of the Ancient Caledonian Pine Forest on arrival. On one side of Cairn Valley lies a large fully enclosed garden that pets get to enjoy. At the back of this luxury cottage is an open sitting area with a low table, sofa and chairs for morning coffee, drinks or alfresco dining. There is a small charcoal BBQ to enjoy as well. A perfect place for wrapping up warm and star gazing into the vast open clear skies the north of Scotland is known for. Additionally there is a light-filled garden room that makes a perfect inside/outside retreat whatever the weather. A room that offers endless experiences such as reading, yoga, games, writing or can be set up with a massage table for relaxation treatments from our highly recommended mobile therapists. The gardens beyond Cairn Valley are left and beyond that is Loch an Eilein, mountains and glens that dreams are made of.
CHILDREN
Cots and highchairs can be provided during your stay, just let us know in advance and we’ll have them in the property for your arrival. Please note, since most little ones prefer their own comforts, we don’t provide cot sheets.
PETS WELCOME
We love dogs and gladly accept them into our properties – we charge a £25 pet fee to cover the extra cleaning charges to keep everything extremely pristine for you and other guests. Cairn Valley has a fully enclosed garden. Please see our terms and conditions for more information about pets.

LOCATION
Despite its completely secluded location, Cairn Valley is incredibly accessible by road, rail and air. Situated a mere 10-minute drive from Aviemore, a 35-minute drive from Inverness through stunning Highland scenery and just over an hour’s flight from London, you can be at the heart of the Scottish Highlands quicker than you may think.
BY RAIL
Aviemore Station is 2 ½ miles from Cairn Valley and taxis are readily available. It is serviced by direct National Express and Caledonian Sleeper services from London and the south, and has links to all major cities (3 hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh). You can pick up a taxi from outside Aviemore Station or you can book a taxi on 01479 812 000 or 01479 811 111. If you aren’t heading straight to the cottages, you can leave your luggage with Aviemore Luggage Storage so you can easily explore without carrying your bags around with you.
Car hire – you can travel to Aviemore by train, and collect your hire car from Aviemore Car & Van Hire right outside the train station. Please see www.aviemorecarhire.co.uk who will meet you off even the earliest or latest trains.
The newly refurbished Caledonian Sleeper is the most luxurious and romantic way to arrive here and pulls in around 7am at Aviemore Station. If you would like to arrive in even more style, please speak to us about arranging use of the private helicopter landing pad on the estate.
BY ROAD
Cairn Valley is situated about 3 miles from the main A9 road from Perth to Inverness and 10-minutes by car from Aviemore.
BY AIR
Inverness Airport is only a 45-minute drive away, taking you through some stunning landscapes on the fast A9 road. Direct flights take just over an hour from London, with British Airways serving the airport daily from London Heathrow and Easyjet 3-5 times a day from London (Gatwick and Luton). LoganAir fly direct daily from Manchester, Birmingham and Belfast. Daily flights with KLM link Inverness to Amsterdam Schiphol, which then links to another 176 European cities. From Inverness Airport, you can collect a hire car from a number of competitively-priced providers.
We have a safe landing site if you would like to arrive by private helicopter. Please speak to us to arrange landing and onward transport.
