This loch side holiday cottage is perfectly tucked away in the trees offering privacy in the most beautiful natural surrounding. It’s cosy, fairy tale-esque interiors and wood burning stove are perfect for returning home after a leisurely walk in the forest. It features generous fully stocked kitchen to prepare the perfect Christmas or New Year meal. It has a lovely upstairs bedroom with two twin beds making it the perfect holiday cottage for a small family.
However, if you are looking for something a bit bigger for a family or friend gathering over the Christmas or New Year period, consider Achnahatnich House:
No doubt the Cairngorm Mountain range you see will be covered in snow and fingers crossed all the surrounding fields. This large 3 bedroom house with 3 bathrooms featured two wood burning stoves, epic views and immense comfort. A holiday home that will feel just like you’re home for Christmas. The entire family will enjoy a vast array of activities on Rothiemurchus Estate during your stay and certainly coming back to the warmth and comfort of Achnahatnich House at the end of the day. The open plan kitchen lounge area is ideal to have the entire family together in comfort whilst cooking the Christmas meal.
For a romantic Christmas or New Year getaway consider Loch an Eilein Cottage:
This beautiful cottage sits right on Loch an Eilein, so you’ll enjoy the wonderful views and circular walks around the loch. Again, cosy interiors will make your Christmas or New Year stay a dream. Loch an Eilein Cottage features a double sided wood burning stove, so you can enjoy the fire as the evenings turn to night, then keep it enjoying it as you retire to the bedroom for a comfortable night’s sleep.
If you are looking to enjoy cooking a Christmas or New Year meal you can easily order all your groceries from the Rothiemurchus Farm Shop. They have tailored hampers, easy prep meal kits and during December you can order local free range turkeys. Plus, a lovely collection of Christmas food and drinks. It will be open, with limited hours, so you can easily pop in there during your stay.
For festive cheer, every year we decorate the holiday cottages with a Christmas tree, baubles, twinkly lights and tinsel, making it easy for you to relax and enjoy the festive season on holiday in Scotland – but without setting it up or taking it down!
